Shooting Justin and Landmark Wineries for Fire Station Agency in Los Angeles was one of my favorite jobs last year. It incorporated everything like to shoot - food, lifestyle, landscapes and documentary. Plus the wine was pretty delicious;)

Sweet Things
Something for your sweet tooth. Putting a pdf together for a potential client had me going through some old work. Glad to find a few gems...

Indian Summer
It was late last summer that I received word that I'd been awarded the contract to shoot for the image library of Tourism Penticton. I couldn't believe my good fortune! Not only would I be photographing my favorite subjects, lifestyle and food, but I would also be traveling to Penticton, British Columbia, a beautiful little city situated between Skaha Lake and Okanagan Lake in British Columbia's wine region. Another bonus is that it also just happens to lay 62 km south of my hometown of Kelowna!
Tracy, the client contact, was amazing at helping pull the shoot together and did a great job of finding locations and securing the talent. We ended up shooting for an entire week in October and did our best to make the most of the beautiful fall light by getting started before sunrise and finishing up as the sun set. Both she and I were very happy with the images we came away with...

Happy Landing in LA
My very first photo shoot in LA took place in my own backyard! Not only that, but it was for a new client Dash (a recipe magazine produced by Parade Magazine) and the assignment was to shoot four summer time drinks/desserts. I still have some delicious sangria left in my fridge. If things keep going this way, I think I'm really going to like it here...

(Special thanks to Food Stylist, Karen Gillingham and Prop Stylist, Alicia Buszczak for pulling it all together on such short notice!)

Better late than never...
As you can see I've been a little remiss when it comes to posting to my blog lately, but that is going to change starting today. I am hereby making a commitment to post something once a week until I've got you caught up on the past year or so or until I've got nothing left to say (either of which could take a while).
I'd like to begin by posting an assignment I shot recently for Stern Magazine of Cheryl Cohen Greene, the real life sex therapist that the movie "The Sessions" is based on.
Cheryl was amazing! When I got to her house and asked if she wouldn't mind getting undressed and lying down in a bed of white sheets her response was "Sounds like a great idea!" Right then I knew we were going to hit it off. At 68 she was spry, up for anything and had many great stories to tell that I'm afraid to share with you here because they already made my assistant blush 50 shades of red. (p.s. if anyone knows what Schaferstunden means, please let me know;)

A Recent Food Shoot for The Daily
Have you ever seen these crazy root vegetables in the produce isle of your favorite grocery store and wondered "What in the heck are those things and what would I possibly do with them?" If so, here are a few recipes you may want to try. The Cream of Sunchoke Soup was my favorite.
